First Presbyterian Church founded on April 23, 1869 on what is now the corner of Boone and Main Streets, in the same year as Johnson City’s incorporation, by eleven charter members whose influence, values, and energy, impacted local commerce, government, education, philanthropy, and the Christian religion. Their pilgrimage evidenced fortitude in bearing witness to the Lord Jesus Christ from the pulpit of this church, the homes of Johnson City unto the uttermost parts of the world.

First Presbyterian Church is celebrating this 150th Anniversary by praising God, reflecting on our past, rededicating ourselves to Christ, and spreading the love of Jesus in our church, community, and beyond.
